Abstract
The dissertation is devoted to the study of the capriccio genre in Chinese piano music, which emerges as a self-sufficient artistic phenomenon. The relevance of the topic is determined by: 1) the process of active cultural exchange and globalization, under which Chinese composers increasingly turn to the European heritage, reinterpreting it through the prism of their own centuries-old tradition; 2) the need to study the nature of the capriccio as an "open form" oriented towards improvisationality, visuality, and emotional immediacy. Compared to the study of the capriccio genre in European musical art, the issue of its reception and transformation in the Chinese academic space remains largely unexplored.
