Композиторські пошуки Едварда Елгара : етапи творчої еволюції (на матеріалі оркестрових творів)

Abstract

Британський композитор Едвард Елгар (1857-1934) належить до тих митців, які активно привертали до себе увагу дослідників (а також виконавців та слухачів) і протягом свого життя, і після смерті. Причин такої зацікавленості науковців можна визначити щонайменше дві : непересічна художня цінність написаної Е. Елгара музики та його особливий статус - і як першого успішного британського композитора-симфоніста, і також як першого майстра, хто з часів Г. Перселла отримав визнання і в Британії, і за її межами. The figure of the British composer Edward Elgar (1857-1934) is one of those artists who actively attract attention of the scholars (as well as that of the listeners and the performers) both during their lifetime and after the death of the artist. It is possible to name at least two reasons causing such a great interest of the scholars: outstanding artistic significance of the music written by him and a special status of E. Elgar as a first successful British composer-symphonist, the first one since the times of H. Purcell who has widely recognized both in Britain and abroad.
