Львівські музичні враження на сторінках щоденника Алана Беннетта

Abstract

У статті проаналізовано щоденникові записи Алана Беннетта як джерело для висвітлення культурного життя Львова кінця 1980-х років. Розкрито особливості сприйняття радянської дійсності іноземним спостерігачем у контексті культурної дипломатії доби перебудови. Особливу увагу приділено ролі оперного театру як інструменту репрезентації культурності та влади. Наголошено на значенні «погляду ззовні» для глибшого розуміння історико-культурних процесів.

The article analyzes Alan Bennett’s diary entries as a source for highlighting the cultural life of Lviv in the late 1980s. It reveals the peculiarities of an иностран observer’s perception of Soviet reality within the context of cultural diplomacy during the perestroika period. Special attention is paid to the role of the opera theater as a tool for representing cultural refinement and political power. The study emphasizes the importance of an “outside perspective” for a deeper understanding of historical and cultural processes.
