Abstract

Стаття аналізує сценічний текст мюзиклу Next to Normal у постановці Майкла Грейфа, розкриваючи взаємодію режисерського рішення та музичного матеріалу. Розглядаються ключові елементи сценічної мови: простір сцени, світло, реквізит, жести, мізансцени та костюми. Показано, як мінімалістичні засоби допомагають відтворити межу між реальним і примарним світами та психологічні стани персонажів. Зроблено висновок, що сценічне оформлення не лише конкретизує події, а й поглиблює драматизм і зміст музичного твору.

The article analyzes the stage text of the musical Next to Normal in the production by Michael Greif, revealing the interaction between the director’s vision and the musical material. It examines key elements of stage language, including spatial design, lighting, props, gestures, mise-en-scène, and costumes. The study shows how minimalistic means help depict the boundary between real and imaginary worlds and convey the characters’ psychological states. It concludes that stage design not only concretizes events but also deepens the drama and overall meaning of the musical work.
